Is this something new?

Post by Julie » Thu Sep 18, 2008 11:09 am

Hi, I'm Canadian, so maybe I've just never heard of this, but I just saw a big, strong 20 yr old man on TV who said that he 'gets' over $600.oo a month because he has sleep apnea! I presume he gets it from the gov't (U.S).... What on earth is that about please?

I've never heard of that, either. Was it an advertisement? For what?

Julie,

What? You mean you folks don't have that benefit up north? Why do you think our government is in such financial straits?

Honestly, I haven't got a clue. Haven't heard about that one, but I doubt that it's a government program......although I wouldn't put money on whether or not there might be some loophole somewhere.

He was on one of the "judge" shows suing someone for something or other, but the judge seemed to know what he was talking about when he said he had apnea, used Cpap and gets all that loot!

Well, thanks a lot... at least I don't have to go around thinking you all are cleaning up every month just for being sleepy, and we're being left out ,

What does he mean only $600.00? They told me I would be recieving $1,200!

Just kidding. He could be collecting "Disability" from the Feds or private disability insurance?

One guy told me when he was retiring from the Navy that he was getting tested for sleep apnea and hoped he had it.....because he would be labeled 50% disabled and collect a "huge" amount of money.

For that matter, the US Government does seem to give a lot of money away too easily, and not have enough where it's really needed, like "education?" "Healthcare?"

I was getting so bad from apnea I was becomming worried that I could not work. I'm getting better! Hoorah!

Does that mean I can get a special hang-tag for my car mirror, and get to park in the close parking spaces at the grocery store?
