ResMed ACR38 card reader

Post by Guest » Tue Jul 29, 2008 5:10 pm

Does anyone know if some card readers can recognize the smart card, but not the formatting? I have a 3rd party reader, and the ResScan 3.5 software can see the ResScan smart card, but says it's a "blank card". It can successfully go to green status "Connected", but fails when it tries to write to the card. My machine said that it had copied the data onto the card successfully, and I tried it multiple times. Also tried it on a different computer. I had heard that ACR38's worked and didn't need to be ResMed branded, so I am wondering if it's possibly my data card that is faulty? Unlikely, so I guess need to buy a new reader My reader even has a marking that lets you know where to put the ResMed-sized small cards, and the reader has a green indicator light that works.

That correct, I'm using one with ResScan 3.5.

The symptoms you are reporting usually indicates the device drivers are either not loaded peroperly, or are conflicting with another device.

What operating system are you running on your PC?

Cheers,

Bill

Hi...

I tried it on both Vista and XP. The XP computer I tried because it's an older one which doesn't have those fancy slots that newer laptops have, it also only had a printer connected to it.

Initially (on Vista) I downloaded the ACR38 drivers and installed ResScan afterwards, and did NOT check the box to do drivers during that install. Then when it didn't work, I uninstalled the software and reinstalled while telling it to install the drivers. I also tried various things, unplugging the reader a few times, rebooting the computer.

Ideas?
Need to restart BiPAP therapy, never got adjusted enough. ResMed VPAP Auto with H3i humidifier, Mirage Quattro Full Face mask, ResScan 3.5. On paper, my Dx is OSAS, but it's probably UARS. Reduced amount of REM. Titrated at very low I/E pressures.

I installed everything today, too. Discovered quite by accident that the gold data receptor area on the card needed to be inserted face down into the VPAP but face up in the card reader.
It's worth a try
