new to this site, am not new to apnea. have a DeVilbiss 9000 with humidifier and heater (kind of a stack and odd looking), 6 1/2 years old. Since we got hit in the area 4 months ago with severe ice storm and power outages, brownouts, repairs, outages, over and over again for weeks, my machine has not been right. It cuts out in the middle of the night, will lower pressure, will shut off completely (all result in my waking up which defeats the purpose).
The repair company has it now and on initial check they said they could find nothing wrong. I told them about the problems that they indicate they will "check it out further". After it started going screwy I started having burning in nasal passages and headaches almost every morning. Wife said she sometimes catches a whiff of acrid almost burning smell?
I suspect a software problem and a half hearted attempt at repair by the company, sure don't want to continue with the problem and I count on my machine to sleep. Am on a loaner now (M series Auto C flex, wow what a nice small unit even with the humidifier!)
Has anyone had similar problems with a DeVilbiss unit?
Thanks
DeVilbiss problems
Not familiar with your machine, but most insurance plans will pay for a new machine after five years. Your machine is older, many advances have been made in the machines (smaller, lighter, better data displays, exhale relief, etc.) since it was manufactured. If you purchased the machine on your own, seriously consider purchasing a new one on line (or a newer one from someplace like cpapauction). If you are paying for the repair out of pocket, remember that you are putting money into a unit that is over 6 years old. They are mechanical devices at heart, and do have a finite lifespan.
Good luck!

Getting old doesn't make you 'forgetful'. Having too damn many things to remember makes you 'forgetful'.
Is this a CPAP or APAP? If it's a CPAP, they have them on https://www.cpap.com starting at just over $200 and up from there. About $300 for one with a humidifier. (and up) Or you can go to the cpapauction.com or other places if you have the time and inclination.
