Help error message on remstar auto Error C-1

Post by Guest » Sun May 15, 2005 5:59 am

I have had this Remstar auto with c flex for about 3 months. I got up this morning and downloaded my data to my home computer. When I inserted the card back into the auto. I get an error message Error C-1. It does not do any good to insert the card again. I have also tried to very gently wipe the card off with a soft cloth. What does this error message mean?

I have had this happen a few times. It corrects itself when I reinsert the slowly. It seems to only happen to me when I insert it too quickly. Does it also happen with the additional card you received with the Encore software?

I do not have an additional card. I have tried to do it slowly and it stills does not work. One time I got the error C-6 but the next 12 times C-1. will it hurt the machine to use it without the card? Is there a link that shows the codes?

Only time it happened with me was when I inserted it backwards or upside down. Not sure also if maybe its full. Try deleting some info.

According to Respironics,

C-1 is when the smart card is either upside down or backwards, or corrupt.

C-6 is Smard Card Corrupted

I have had both of these happen to me.

Ted, thanks I eventually got it to take. What makes a card corrupt? Should I buy a new card or the machine is still under warranty?. Should The DME give me a new card. I know I was careful each time i inserted the card and I know I was installing the card correctly.

The card can get messed up just like a credit card in your wallet. A very small scratch, or a spec of dirt.

Something tells me that the smart card is not covered under warranty. It is perishable. The DME may have one laying around that they will give you, but be prepared to purchase if neccesary.

Anyone know were you can buy extra smart cards? Say on the web.
