Feeling great after just two weeks, I have even begun physical therapy for a past injury from which I never fully recovered. As I read through many of the posts, a reoccurring theme is the cost of treating OSA. My insurance company has been great -- a little too great -- and that makes me just a tad nervous. There was no deductable for either of the sleep studies or any of the equipment. (A BiPap Pro 2) Is this normal operation procedure? I feel sorry for anyone who is trying to handle this out of pocket. Is there a network where equipment can be donated when upgrades are available.

insurance question
Most HMO and PPO plans will pay for almost all costs involved as long as you stay in their network. I had Aetna HMO at the time I had my sleep studies done and it cost about one $20 co-pay. If I hadn't had insurance, I couldn't have done it. We just became insured last August. I'm sure there are a lot of other uninsured people out there who can't afford to get help. The cost of treament needs to be reduced somehow so everyone can the help they need although I have no idea how it could be done.
