Ok, this is interesting...
Received my Infineer card reader today and installed it. The install went fine, card reader recognized by the computer and EncorePro, data downloaded without any issues, viewed data (cool) ...went to read the card again and I get:
"...error with SmartCard. Check connections and try the operation again.
Error Source:RespironicsSmartCard2.Type0.1
Error Number:80040208."
--edit begin--
New error message now, The SmartCard has been corrupted. You must format this SmartCard in order to use it for compliance recording or to create a prescriiption. Click on SmartCard Utilities on the menu and then select Setup to format the SmartCard.
Error Source: RespironicsSmartCard2.Type0.1
Error Number:8004020D
This above error has been posted here before and recently from what I see. I have configured the windows service to autostart as suggested.
--end---
Previous to this I received a message that I needed to format the card to make it usable. I did not format the card.
The card reader still shows in the Windows XP device manager with no error status. However all I get is the above error message upon each attempt to read the card.
Anyone experience a similar issue such as this?
Also, does anyone here have info on these cards as to their memory configuration and OEM origin? Anyone can get custom made cards for their company. These are not some propriatary configuration just developed solely for the use of Encore software developers. Smart Cards come in 8KB, 16KB and 32KB for the general standard. There are other memory configurations but these are the most common. I'm going to look into this and experiment with a handful of cards that I have and see what I come up with as far as 'generic' compatibility and hopefully find the right card to purchase in bulk.
and to rule out any computer noob variables... I am a IT support specialist/consultant/etc. and work with computers and related equipment as a profession, so I am not new to troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
