I'm six days into this new world of CPAP and shaking down a REMstar Pro M Series. I'm making it through the night with several awakenings with the newness of masked sleeping.
I am curious how long the machine needs to run in order to log a session? Is it better to turn the machine off for a quick bathroom break or just disconnect and let it blow all over? If I let it run without the mask glued to my face am I displaying more mask leakage?
My AHI is logging 1.2, down from a RDI of 56.0 pre CPAP. I was wondering how accurate are the AHI readings on these machines?
Just a few initial questions....I'm sure I'll have more.

When is a Session Logged
Glenn,
Just switch the machine off for your bathroom visit, then back on when you return to bed. The report will show a few blank minutes in the compliance report for that period of time. Don't leave it on, or it will think you have a large leak.

The machine is as accurate as it is, that's more accurate than your Doctor pulling a number out of his hat, it's also more accurate than a sleep study gone bad, which can happen for a number of reasons.
Every machine is different, everyone hooked up to a machine is different. It all comes out in the wash. The data give us a indicator of how our treatment is doing, and our requirements change daily and through the night. Jim

Welcome to the group. Your treatment is going very well if you have an AHI of 1.2 now. Keep it up and feel free to ask any questions that arise here.luna336 wrote:My AHI is logging 1.2, down from a RDI of 56.0 pre CPAP. I was wondering how accurate are the AHI readings on these machines?
