I am getting my first new machine in 5 years. I currently have a Resmed AutoSpirit autopap w/ 2i heated humidifier. I am purchasing a Respironics M-Series AutoCPAP w/ A-Flex and the attached heated humidifier. Is this machine any good? Is it better than the C-Flex? Are there any disadvantages to the M-Series w/A-Flex?
Thanks for your help.

I think you've selected a very good machine, rairs.
Actually, you will have C-Flex working for you in the M series REMstar Auto/A-flex machine. If you turn on A-Flex, you will be automatically getting "C-flex" during the exhale...softening the beginning of the exhale, just like C-flex does on its own. A-flex will further smooth out the transitions between exhale and inhale.
It's a very versatile machine...can use just C-flex, or use A-flex (which also gives you C-flex style exhaling) ...or you don't have to use either.
You can use the machine as an autopap or as a cpap. Lots of ways to find the most comfortable, effective settings.

Aflex is a nice machine, has Cflex and Aflex, so you get both along with regular CPAP and CPAP Auto.
The humidifier works great as long as you never take the tank apart where it may leak afterward (clean it with the lid on, slosh a tsp of bleach in diluted water about once a year should do it).
Aflex makes therapy feel like you are using a much lower pressure, in fact I had to increase my Minimum by 2 cm over Cflex version.
