Feel like crap -- any meds which can make me feel better?

Post by meister » Tue Apr 26, 2005 8:51 am

I was doing pretty well on the PB 420e and then I switched to the
ResMed Spirit. Both are Autos!! Same mask. I feel very depressed,
and basically feel like crap on the Spirit. My leaks are lower as
reported by the AutoScan software, than what was being reported by
the Silverlining software, but my AHIs are much higher; >10 on the
Spirit, <5 on PB 420e. Both PAPs had same minimum pressure and no ramp.
I feel soooo bad. Switching to a ResMed VPAP III BiPap next week. I hope that is better. I wonder if it is really the weather, as after 3 weeks of
warm sun, we have cold, snow, and dark clouds.

It could be the change in machines. Each machine uses its own algorithm, and the different manufacturers have different formulas. Some people do better on one manufacturers products, while some people can use any manufacturer, and get the same results. You could be more in tune with the PB 420E formula and need that algorithm.

Meister:

I'm sure the mask has a lot to do with it, but don't discount the weather. We've had beautiful weather for weeks now and then wound up with grey skies and SNOW this past weekend. I felt a definite drop in my mood and energy levels when it started and a nice boost yesterday when things reverted to a normal Spring-like state.

Just don't give up!

Meds for "feeling lousy"

Hi,
I just started taking Provigil 6 days ago. Today is the first day that I can tell the difference. Unfortunately, it is a rather expensive drug ($225 for 30 pills) and the insurance companies do not like to pay for it (but in my case they did). I actually got a free 7 day voucher from my doctor. The manufacturer wants to get you to like it so that you will pay for it out of your pocket even if your insurance company turns you down.

Good luck,

Jim
