Rubbing against my face they feel quite comfortable. So comfortable I have been rubbing them against my face for 15 minutes (wife is not home yet). Heck, should have bought an extra pair.

So I guess I'll just cut the legs away from the waist and crotch at the seams. Will they unravel if I do this? How do you fasten the leg ends to make a circle?

Now wait a minute, I have been wearing a $21 Buff (buffusa.com) to protect my nice head of hair from the mask straps. These tights are much cheaper. Maybe I can just leave the legs intact, put the panties over my hair and pull the legs around my mask.

Metro-Male.
Wow, Rooster, That Buff thing is really cool! Where did you hear about it? Do you use it for other things besides cpap? So, you are using that with the full regular headgear and that works? That might be an option for me. I'm soooo wary of cutting up the headrest. Also wary of even trying it on (I haven't yet.)

Normally I would have given it a try it the first night but I have been too tired lately to feel like doing anything new. Unrelated to sleep apnea. My treatment is fine. Can't go into the details just yet. Yet my desire to stop having mask parts touch and abrade my sensitive skin is strong. Maybe I'll fool with it later today.

Tell me more about this Buff, though, I think my son might like one of those for the playground.

I used the tights on the nasal pillows of my Hybrid last night. I must say they seem to work well.

somewhat related question re the Headrest tube

Is it possible to find replacement tubes for the Headrest? As in, the tube that is smaller than the standard CPAP hose, the tube that connects to the nasal seal and goes up over your head.

I'm asking because one of my cats seems to have a knack for biting this little tube when I'm not paying attention; that tube also seems to see wear the fastest of any part of the Headrest. It seems I sometimes end up taping that tube to high heaven well before I'm due for a mask replacement; if a replacement tube could be had for a reasonable price and put on there-- that would rock.

I gather from the instructions on how to deconstruct a Headrest that it is possible to remove that tube from the headgear . . . now I just need to find a replacement.

Any ideas? Anyone do this?

Someday I will be brave enough to update my avatar with a current photo in my Buff, (buffusa.com),
my tights
and my Hybrid.
My Padacheeks.
Lying on my MedSlant wedge
and Papillow
with another pillow between my legs.
There is a fanny pack with three tennis balls.
The head of my bed is elevated.
The Respironics blue lights are shining.
The noise machine is playing rain on a tin roof.
This is getting damn ridiculous. .

You knew I had to do it.

Bless you, ozij, this is exactly the info I was looking for. I must say I was surprised to see other replacement parts listed for the Headrest, but not that darn tube.

Thanks!

Awesome!

I always tell people that wearing the Aura is quite like having a baseball cap on . . .

(And yeah, that latest "guest" was me, cool that the software knows to say so when possible).

Where did you see other parts. The only replacement part I've seen is the pillows portion.

Does it come without the headgear? As in, can it be used as a 3 month mask replacment? (I decapitated it, so don't want the headgear).

Rosemary,
When it's decapitated you only need to replace the seal and maybe the narrow tube - I wouldn't expect there to be much wear and tear, or any other reason to replace the hard plastic piece with the vents.

The Headrest / Aura's seal is 45$, the Breeze's tube is $20.95 which together are cheaper than a whole Headrest at $99.

The only reaon to buy the whole Headrest is that it comes with one set of pillows that is the wrong size for you - and you may want to trade it or sell it.
