I wonder if I'm grinding my teeth more with a UM FF mask and wanted to find out if others have had the same experience.
Thanks,

grinding teeth
I find myself clenching my teeth with a ff mask. I rarely do this with any other type of mask. I think if I wore the ff more i would get used to the feel and not be annoyed with it. The F &P 431 doesn't have that effect on me. jim

I think it is one of several a phases many of us go through.
First the skin reaction to having plastic against your face ... then needing fewer sleep hours than normal ... then the back and chest pains as our lung capacity increases ... then aerophagia ... then restoring back to the usual number of sleep hours ... then clenching our teeth ... etc. Well, at least those are the phases I have gone through.
Finally a year goes by and we get settled into the new lifestyle and we forget that sleeping this new way was ever any different and all is now back to normal with no skin reactions, no pains, no aerophagia, no teeth clenching, normal sleep durations, etc.
BTW - I use a nasal pillow interface.

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.
Hey every body, well last night was my first night on a cpap machine at home, and I had the teeth clenching also. Just getting started with this I believe it's just a matter of adjustments I'll have to make and I'm sure a lot of other folks have had to make. The tech from the home health care provider said to give it some time and be willing to make adjustments in my sleeping habits to begin with, and that if I had enough patients i would start seeing a difference in the way I feel during the day real soon.
Well all for now and best wishes to everyone.

You know I hadn't thought about teeth clenching and grinding at all. I have been having some jaw pain on the left side. At times it is really painful and thought that I had a case of TMJ -- but now I wonder if I am not clenching or grinding my teeth making my jaw hurt.
Thank you for some insight into what may be my problem.

The grinding of your teeth is likely related to TMJ. FF Mask could be aggraving it. A mouth guard works well, although I would suggest having your dentist make one for you rather than using the ones Wal Mart, etc. sells. You get what you pay for. I have TMJ and have succesfully treated it.
You will undoubtedly find many people on this site that did research on the internet and are now experts on every subject. You are better off taking the advice from th0ose that have personal experience and have treated the symptoms successfully.
Haven't visited this site in quite a while - After glancing at a few of the posts I am reminded of why I rarely visit this site - I typically take a quick look at the posts only after I place an order with the host of this site.

has nothing to do with the mask or OSA, nearly everyone grinds their teeth at some point in their life. More stress you have in your life the more likely you will grind. My daughter who is a dentist says nearly every patient she sees grinds and that it is important to recognize and guard against it as it can lead to invisible cracks in the enamel which leads to decay and eventual loss of the tooth.
someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

That is how I found out I was clenching and grinding my teeth was through cracks in my teeth -- one tooth had four major cracks in it and now has a cap on it. I was doing it subconsciously and until I was made aware of it didn't realize I was doing. Let me get stressed out or upset and I clench my teeth like there is no tomorrow.
The dentist recommended that I get a guard for night time use and for times when I am stressing. I had him make one and he gave me this cool container that is scented to keep it in. Unfortunately the container is scented grape and I happen to be allergic to grapes -- now I know I am not allergic to the scent as it is made into the plastic but I can't get past the gag reflex of the scent to wear the silly thing. It truly is a mind over matter thing and probably should try it again.
