a smartcard's lifetime???

how long do they last if i'm reading everyday???

should i buy some spares?

The should last years. The flash memory will eventfully wear out but I wouldn't be very concerned about it.

I also was wondering if you dont download any information from the smart card for several months (at the doctors office for the doctor) How long the info could be stored in full. In my travels I thought I heard that after a week the only info you can get is compliance info only..true?
I have the RemStar Pro C-flex w/smart card.
