Sizing for Nasal Aire II
OK I know I can't really afford to get one now, but I'm been trying to figure out how to get enough cash available to get my hands on one of the NAII. Currently I'm using a loaner OptiLife from my Kaiser DME. I go between using the Petite and Small pillows I think I really need something in between. Does anyone know if the extra small, small, medium should be the right choice for me. My DME only carries Respironics stuff, the F&P 406 (that didn't work for me) must of been a fluke left over, because I've been told they only carry Respironics stuff now. Which is why I'll probably never have a full face mask for cold season... Only one I would consider at all would be one without a forehead support like the Hans Rudolph 7600 or possibly one like the Hybrid (but I don't know if one of those work since any pressure on my top lip causes tooth pain.) I'm claustrophobic so I know I couldn't handle one otherwise, I barely can handle a nasal mask.
I know that you wouldn't know for sure but I was hoping that someone else might of tried both and used the same sizes. My nares about the same size and more round than not, so I think this could be a good mask for me.
Thanks,
Christy

Welcome to the Nasal Aire bunch. The Nasal Aire is hard to say what size but the new patient kit comes with a sizing star with some little nubs that you put in your nose and see if it seals. Gives a pretty good starting point. If you could use a extra small I have several canullas I would be willing to give you one. The small is the one I use so for the small I can't help. There are several on ebay that are going to bid in the next 45 minutes for about $30 but I think they are all Med, Large & Extra large. Once you get the hoses lots of the time you can trade for different sizes. There are also several on cpapauction.com but they don't go to bid for several days. I have a sizing star I will loan you if you want it to see how you fall in the sizing chart. Lots of ways to wear them, look on our resident expert on the NA II, Babette links. She lots of time has a running list of who has what sizes for trade. Let me know if I can help. I wish I had a set of hoses you could try.

Admiral, would you like me send you a complete NAII and Bravo kit to try? Cost you postage only.
If so, please email STAT. It's shipping back to me, and I'd like to re-route it to you.
Comes with almost all sizes of NAII cannulas. I think by now it's missing one or two.
It's been worn for one or two nights by a couple different people. They swear they've cleaned it well, but I do recommend a thorough cleaning when you get it - including soaking it in a strong vinegar/water solution for several hours to overnight.
Cheers,
Barbara

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula.

Thanks I've been looking at cpapauctions.con but there is only 2 up one with just Large the other is xsmall small medium. the 3 set has a stupid reserve. I hate things with reserves. If you want to get a certain price out of something set a minimum bid. I've thought about putting a bid on it. I also went to e-bay but I had missed those auctions.
I have found the new all size packaged NAII for $99 at http://www.directhomemedical.com/ which if I could afford it seems like it be a good new deal seeing as once I size then I'd have trade fodder for my size, and others would be benefiting too. If I could actually order it I'd add something small cause $100 and over orders are free shipping... I'd rather spend the almost $8 it would cost to ship a $99 item on something than pay it on shipping...
Thanks so much I'll PM you about borrowing the sizing star.

BTW, 6ptstar, expect a Small in a week or so. Oct 1 is my 6 month "allowed" to buy a new mask date. I'm buying the set of all sizes and I'll be sending you that small as soon as I can.
Cheers,
B.

Are your nasal passages very small? If so, you may be a candidate for the new NasalAire Petite sets. They are for very small nose openings. You can see them on the Innomed website and I'm sure cpap.com sells them. See if innomed makes one of those star things to size it before you order something you can't return.
