Feeling Spacy!!!!!!

Post by Quilterbmb48 » Fri Sep 28, 2007 11:45 am

I began my Cpap journey on 9/21/07. All is well, however, I feel kinda spacy (foggy-not clear in the head).

Also my body is stiff, sore, kinda aches. Sleeping has been ok, but I can't seem to relax and have been sleeping mostly on my back.

Help-does the foggy feeling eventually disappear?

Bettina

Well, if you just arrived from the planet Remulak, mass quantities of CPAP does a body good … I hope you are not going to ask us to take you to our leader (err, I mean decider).

Your profile indicates that you have a data capable machine. You need to start collecting data (write it down … use a spread sheet, perhaps get yourself some software) and monitor your progress or lack there of. Lots of great folks around here that will help you.

Read as much as you can in this forum and it will pay off in the future.

Get a copy of your sleep study report (PSG). Get a copy of your prescription (original) from your doctor. Then read read read.

You will gradually (or quickly if you be lucky like me) start getting your life back and start feeling alive again.

Best wishes!

BTW – Welcome to the third stone from the sun and enjoy all the silly Earthlings on this forum!

President-pretender, J. Biden, said "the DNC has built the largest voter fraud organization in US history". Too bad they didn’t build the smartest voter fraud organization and got caught.

My fogginess got much worse in the beginning because I was being fully awakened many times during the night for mask leaks and noises. Also, I eventually figured out that I was leaking treatment pressure out my open mouth when I was sleeping. There is a huge amount of information available in this forum so dig in. The fogginess will go away if you learn how to trouble shoot your treatment so that it is working for you.

If you have a significant other sleeping with you that person needs to help out by learning how you should look and sound when things are right so they may help you identify when things are wrong.

Good luck,
TerryB

A number of new cpap users on this forum reported feeling a variety of aches and pains. That often seems to be the result of either 1) having fewer apnea events, which allows one to sleep more soundly in one position without moving around, or 2) holding one's head or body in positions you are not used to in order to not disturb the cpap ensemble you have on your head and to not cause mask leaks. If your stiffness and soreness is from one of these causes, it should go away fairly quickly as you get used to cpap.

However, if you have a mask that does not fit you correctly or is uncomfortable for you, the aches and pains could continue. It is really important to find a mask that works well for you. Let your DME supplier know if you need to try other masks.

Good luck.
