I am about to purchase my first machine.
While in the sleep lab, I had a lot of trouble exhaling. I have been told a c-flex will help with exhaling. What does the a-flex do?
Would like to hear from experienced users of both. Thanks.

c-flex vs. a-flex
all depends on what your pressure was, but compared to the Auto w/Cflex, the Auto w/AFlex is effortless to breathe against.
The difference is:
CFlex only offers exhale relief at the "beginning" of exhale where it comes back up to maintain your pressure support.
AFlex also incorporates CFlex but in addition it offers relief on inhale, this makes for much more comfort with therapy.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...
aflex
[ wrote a reply last night- didnt make it on to board somehow] try again
I had cflex and it was a big help over straight blower
then i got aflex
aflex helps on inhale and exhale- and to me the cflex part- the exhale relief seems somehow better than it worked with cflex machine
think of this image for inhale relief- a young child or baby trying to breath in a strong wind- they fight it and have trouble getting their breath-
now think of yourself with a wind storm tied to your face aflex helps
I spoke and wrote to my sleep doc about benefit of aflex- I think we all need to try to lobby docs to order machines that are best possible for newbies
what happens often times I think is that newbie get cheap full face mask and a cheap blower- says to he++ with this nonsense and suffers apnea affects-
many of these newbies would be compliant with proper equipment and knowledge available here packe
