Post by Sleepdeprived » Sun Jul 08, 2007 8:35 am

Is this a coconut oil based soap ?

No animal by products.

I found that they sell it at my local Publix supermarket

Castile soap

Post by KAZ » Sun Jul 08, 2007 10:44 am

No expert here, I just ordered some to try out. Here is what they say re Bonner Castile soap:
Made with organic coconut, olive, hemp & jojoba oils.
Scented with organic essential oils.
Contain no synthetic surfactants, no petrochemicals, and no floral water fluff.

Hope this helps. Regards

Cheapest version is at Trader Joe's. $2.99 for a...20 oz bottle? Smaller than my Dr. Bronner's, but much cheaper. Works just as well. I prefer the peppermint scent.

Look for a TJ's in your area!

Cheers,
B.

I currently have a stash of Nasal Aire II cannulas in Small or Extra Small. Please PM me if you would like them. I'm interested in bartering for something strange and wonderful that I don't currently own. Or a Large size NAII cannula. :)

TJ's website doesn't carry all their products. Go find your local store.

Kirk's should work just fine. Not nearly as entertaining as the Bronner's bottle, though...

Any castile soap is going to be made in the old-fashioned way with some sort of vegetable oil. Kirks is a good brand. The key to a castile type soap is that they don't remove the GLYCERINE. They just make the soap and package it. The big companies (zest, etc) make the soap, take away the glycerine, and add in harsh industrial detergents to make the soap "clean better." You will find your skin likes a good castile far better. It won't be as drying. Glycerine is a natural moisturizer.

Could someone explain why all this talk about Castile soap? Does it just make you cleaner, or is there another reason? (I'm all about helpful products.)

I worry a bit about the oil factor, I love the Pears Soap, and it's only 1$ at the dollar tree, I use it for everything! Pure too.
