Hey All.... I'm pretty new to CPAPs and the forums here. I've known that I've had sleep apnea for years but did not realize how severe it was or any of the long term issues until talking to someone recently who has been on CPAP for a while.
I went in for two sleep studies and found out I was in the severe category with an apnea on average every 50 seconds throughout the night. Luckily the study was able to get it down to 2 for the entire night at a pressure of only 8. I started out with the low end M Series model and found out it was not working. The doctor switched me to the auto with A-Flex and pressure between 8-10 about a week and a half ago. I have only had one apnea since.
The only problem is that when I had the low end model M Series I did not think it was working so I purchased the software so I could see what was going on (ver 1.6 I think.) Now the machine the doctor switched me to uses a new version of the software and is not backwards compatible. From searching here I see that it is not being sold to end users any more... Just doctors.
Does anyone know where this can still be purchased or found? I'm pretty bummed after shelling out for the old version. I searched but did not really see anything so I thought I would ask.
Thanks all,
Dana

Some time ago someone got their insurance to cover it, but that is the only one I've heard of.

I was not able to get my insurance to cover it, but I did convince my FSA (flexible spending account) carrier to cover it. Fortunately, the rep at the FSA carrier had relatives who used a CPAP and completely understood why I would want the software. She appealed the initial denial of my request on her own and won it for me.
