The AC 11 s, the s stands for plural you have many of them or is that a new designation for an upgraded machine?

My internist, who has sleep apnea It is really a good doctor, had me do the nighthawk test from ResMed and I was having probably AHIs of below 20 range which I think is much better than what I had in the past. The internist thinks I might be better off with the CPAP machine as I'm having high leaks with the air curve 11. I've been using a BiPAP since I had the Sullivan BiPAP in 2003 but maybe that continual pressure might be better for a leak situation. What do you think?

I'm not sure, but I think your VAUTO can be set to run like a CPAP...

Yes, all of the AirCurve BiPAP (and the ASV machines too) can be set operate in CPAP mode.

The image below is from the AirCurve 10 BiPAP machine's Clinical Guide:

will it have the same features at the Air Sense 11, which I believe is the latest cpap?

It's unclear what you mean by "it" above? The OP has already clarified that the only machine he still has for sale is the same AirCurve 11 VAuto that you already have.

His point, and mine, is simply that all Resmed AirSense and AirCurve 10 and 11 series machines (14 different machine models in total) support basic CPAP mode, with all available features for that mode, when the machine is properly configured.

I only shared the AirCurve 10 VAuto image for reference because I had it readily on hand.

Regarding comparing 10 vs. 11 series machine features: Latest features ≠ greatest features, which is why the 10 series machines are still in high demand by many longtime PAP patients.

Regarding your uncontrolled mask leaks: You need whatever pressure you need to keep your airways open during inhalation in order to effectively treat your OSA. More expensive and capable BiPAP therapy provides a brief respite from that pressure during exhalation, while basic CPAP therapy does not. I fail to see how your internist thinks that keeping your required IPAP pressure constant, rather than cyclic, will do anything to reduce mask leaks.

But again, you can test this for yourself now with your AirCurve VAuto machine without downgrading to a less comfortable and less capable CPAP-only therapy machine.
