CPAP Supplier Staffed by Real People?

Post by RandomName » Fri Mar 21, 2025 5:06 pm

Any general agreement on where to buy machines and supplies? If I have to deal with my local supplier again, I'll probably elect to stop using the machine--it's that bad. I'm on Medicare if that matters.

I don't think there is not any agreement on one DME. You try to find one that is less painful for you. Some people will not have any trouble with a DME, while some folks will hate the same DME. They all give some pain. You try to get one that you can manage,,,, maybe with drugs! Due to my insurance requiring me, I had to use Apria (Crapria) for years. They were terrible, but I had no choice. I'm on Medicare now, and someone here recommended Aeroflow to me. They are not bad. They may have a few clitches here and there. Once you get your machine, mask and cushions and filters, etc,,, it's normally getting basic supplies every 3 months, I get a text my phone that it's time for my 3 month supplies, I call them and say "send it" and it comes by Fedex in a week or so.

I gave up and just buy it myself out of pocket. My co pay cost more than replacement parts on Amazon.

I switched from my original supplier to Aeroflow, and so far, so good. A bit of confusion at first as to what I was eligible for, but the reps seem friendly and helpful, and it's pretty easy to order new supplies. Can't say how they compare to others, but they are a ton better than my first supplier.

They are associated with cpapsupplies.com, so if they have what you want, odds are Aeroflow can get it too.

You can check suppliers in your area here:

https://www.medicare.gov/medical-equipment-suppliers/

You input your Zip code, and put CPAP in the equipment field.
You will get a list of suppliers. Some are "preferred" meaning that they cannot ask you to pay more than Medicare allows for equipment or service.

My supplier is not preferred, but the only time they have charged anything over the medicare amount, was to activate the modem, and that was only $36.

You can search the list, and then research any in your area as to reputation.
