Hi Everyone
Season's Greetings to all of you.
I am posting after a long time here. I have been using a ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset with Full Face Mask [Airfit F 20] since the first week of May 2021 when I was advised to start with a CPAP. I have been using quite regularly and despite a few hiccups I have used it regularly, and it has served me very well. Indeed I am very grateful for the change it has made to my life.
However, of late, the bridge of my nose has become very sore due to the AirFit F20. It feels and looks like that there is some bruising in the area and I have bought an AirFit F30 mask. This does not put pressure on my bride of my nose, and it has been more comfortable from that point. I can also read a little with the mask on when I go to bed early. However, the bottom of the nose becomes very sore, and I wake up very early as a result. It has been close to three weeks of using it and I still wake up around 4.30-5 every morning with the bottom of the nose feeling very tender.
Does it get any better with time with an Airfit F30 or does this tenderness at the bottom of the nose mean that I need to buy an L size mask instead of an M size mask. I have been using Medium size for Airfit F20.
Secondly, my flow limitation has gone up a bit since November. 95% Flow limitation has gone up from an average of 0.20 to 0.30. Last year, also, it was bad between November and January and I had attributed it to my nasal congestion getting worse in dry winter. This year, I noticed that my 95% pressure was 16 every night which was the maximum. I have increased it to 17 last week and I can see the 95% pressure is already touching 17. Should I increase this further?
Most importantly, the reason for this post is I am worried whether my CPAP is working. So far, if I stepped out to go to the washroom, the pressure flow automatically stopped and then when I placed the mask again, the pressure would gently rise allowing me to fall asleep again. This morning, the pressure flow did not stop. I woke up twice - once to drink water and once to go to the washroom. Yet, there was no stoppage or reduction of the pressure. As a result, it took me some time to fall asleep again.
When I looked at the OSCAR data: screenshot can be seen herehttps://drive.google.com/file/d/1PC0EM3 ... sp=sharing, there was no drop in the pressure.
In contrast, for the night of December 22, I see that when I woke up and put the mask back, the pressure was slowly ramped up and did not immediately increase. The screenshot of the OSCAR Data is here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1F8RqdC ... sp=sharing
Does this mean that there is something wrong with the settings of the machine or that the machine needs servicing? It has been 3 years and 7 months since I have been using it.
Any advice would be very helpful.
Thanks

Your Airsense 10 has a smart start feature. When it is turned on it will automatically turn the machine off when you disconnect the hose or remove the mask. It will automatically restart when you attach the hose opr put on the mask. Go into your settings and see if smart start is turned on.

Be sure you have the right size mask on the F30. I have an F30I and it fits great With the medium mask, but hurts my nose with the large. Alternatively, you could try the F40 as there is no hard part to hurt your nose. As with the 30, be sure to get the right size mask for the 40 or you will end up chasing leaks.

Did you have CAs during your sleep study, if so your machine will not treat those.
Can you post a copy of your sleep study with your personnel info redacted?
I turn my machine off when I wake up, I do not use the smart off/on feature. Therefore I always have the benefit of the ramp feature if I want that then.
Your flow limits are high and could possibly be addressed with EPR, but your stats are not showing. It looks like EPR might be on with the lower EPAP however, an experience user could lend some help.

I learned long ago that the bottom of my nose is very tender and ANYTHING touching it for an extended period will leave it sore. Therefore I can't wear nasal pillow, nasal cushions, or any mask that seals against the bottom of my nose.
The bridge of my nose is also sensitive, which means I am very particular about what mask I can wear. I now have a collection of over 2 dozen different masks. There are only 4 or 5 of them that I can actually wear for more than a day or 2 at a time.
The mask is a very personal item. What one person swears by another will swear at.

Gramps used to make a bhindi stir fry. We both loved it. I will see if he can find his recipe.
