Hello to whom it may concern,
I recently got a CPAP machine Airsense 11 and have been using it with a full face mask with the foam. The airtouch F20. The first few days, I thought I was doing well as the machine and OSCAR were telling me I had low AHI. I had failed to see that my leak rate was very high. I was averaging 2-5 AHI with a leak rate of 20+. I have since adjusted my mask to be a little bit tighter which made the leak rate go away to near 0. But now my AHI is up to 40+. OSCAR is showing Obstructive and Hypopnea. Is there any moves I can do sleep or position wise? Are these real issues?

Please don't snip/crop images. See this
http://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t1585 ... eview.html
Your pressure of 12 cm is not sufficient to keep the airway open. You need more pressure.
I don't know your settings (you cropped the left side off so we can't see) but looks like maybe a fixed cpap pressure of 12 cm with a ramp of some sort...looks like auto ramp maybe.
Those are indeed very real issues. You need to be using more pressure. Some of it may be positional (perhaps on your back).
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

Thanks, I've attached the full screenshot here. Correct it is set right now on auto ramp for 30 minutes. Starts at 4 then hits 12

I get the dreaded 404 error with this last link. Means you did something wrong. Now what...I have no idea.

Thanks for changing the image - and editing the first post.
I agree with Pugsy. Wonder where you got the settings from?

These were prescribed by my doctor and after a in-lab sleep study.
They started at 4 and ramped until my AHI was low enough which was around 12. (During the study)

Yep....fixed cpap mode at 12 cm and using ramp on auto.
Do you spend much time on your back?
Do you want to be able to change the settings yourself or do you wish to wait for the doctor?
Either try staying off your back (easier said than done) and that's assuming these results point to supine sleeping....or learn to adjust your pressures and deal with things yourself.
I don't know why 12 cm may have worked in the sleep lab but they sure aren't working now.
If it were me I would change the settings but it's up to you. Doing it my way would mean that you could most likely sleep in any position you want and the machine will just handle it with more pressure if needed. If not needed it won't increase the pressure.
If me I would suggest
Mode....AutoSet
minimum pressure...8 or 9
maximum pressure...20
Turn on EPR and set to full time and set it at 3
You can still use the auto ramp if you need it but bear in mind that during any ramp period the machine does NOT record apnea events so most likely there were apnea events that didn't get recorded.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

Thanks,
Yes I mostly sleep on my back. I have a new pillow that sits lower that I'll try out. I have no issues sleeping on my side and will attempt that tonight to see if any changes are made.
My Dr. has mentioned that hes OK with changing the settings. They mentioned it might take a few adjustments to find the correct setting even after a sleep study. I could potentially try them out tonight or tomorrow.

It seems the issue is sleep position related. I did not change any settings last night but I completed a two-fold approach. I slept the first part of the night on my side then woke up and used one of those airport neck pillows. It seems my current bed configuration my body is dipping in towards my chest like a V shape. This might be causing an issue breathing through my airways. My AHI dropped to 1.9 and never rose above 3 the entire night. Thanks for the help everyone! I'll still talk to my Provider about setting it to autoset with the higher pressure and see if sleeping in other spots can work as well.
I hope this can help others in the future, try changing your sleep position.
