I have a new AirSense 11. I am having a problem where I wake up in the night and find the thing pushing out 10-12l/m, which is lifting the mask off my face causing leaks to the point of the curtain fluttering. I have the mask tight enough to my face to the point of feeling the frame. I can lay there as long as I want, but the pressure never drops down. I have to shut the thing off and restart.
Previous to this new machine, I had an AirStart that also does the same. With the new machine, I tried an F&P FlexiFit 431. It fluttered really bad, so I went back to my Mirage Quatro. Better, but still lifting when the pressure goes high.
Anyone have thoughts on this

Re: AirSense 11 High Pressure
If you could upload your SD card to SleepHQ and let us see a night's data we could venture a guess... this would also tell us all your settings.
www.sleephq.com
It is a free website that allows you to store one machine's SD card data and share it anonymously. Here is a recent night of mine:
https://sleephq.com/public/a95543c6-157 ... cca0be652a
If your machine does not have an SD card in its slot you can get one from almost any place... an old camera, the drugstore, Amazon, etc. Don't use one larger than you need, 32gb is fine.

10-12 cmH20 is not considered high pressure. 10 is generally thought to be average for the patient population.
CPAP masks are not designed to be worn with tight adjustment. "Floating on the face" is a good thing. Find your mask on YouTube and watch some videos about fitting and adjusting.RickBechard wrote: ↑Fri Jun 21, 2024 9:20 amI have the mask tight enough to my face to the point of feeling the frame.
Yes, it would be best if we could see your data in SleepHQ.com.

I have actually been using CPAP since 2007 or so. I am quite familiar with the proper mask adjustments. Previous to the Resmed machines, I had two F&P machines that didn't have this issue. The issue being that I will wake with air pumping out the side of the mask and the indicated pressure at the max level I have allowed. I can tighten the mask, but any movement causes the same large air leak at the sides. That pressure does not drop unless I cycle the power. One would expect an APAP machine to reduce the pressure when the person is awake. Once the power is cycled, the machine will operate as normal. I did set the machine to reduce pressure by 3 on exhale, which made it better, but it still is an intermittent problem with two different masks.

Re: AirSense 11 High Pressure
Different APAP machine have different algorithms, which make them supply different pressures.
You my have a type of breathing pattern that the ResMed machine responds to more aggressively than you're used to.
