Help! Reminders to put the mask back on/turning on machine after bathroom?

Post by AJBU » Sat Jun 08, 2024 9:53 am

New to the board. Love my cpap therapy. I am helping my mom adjust to cpap after being diagnosed with OSA. She's been on it about 40 days now. I believe i have the right pressure for her at 8. The only issue now is how to remind her to put the mask back on or turning the machine back on after using the bathroom in the middle of the night. She has gone a couple of nights without being diligent about it. She has the new Fisher Pykel solo mask. Any tips??

Most machines have an AutoStart feature that senses a couple of breaths and turns the machine on. Which model machine does she use?

CPAP masks should not be removed for brief trips. Most masks have a quick-release connection that will allow the user to easily disconnect the hose. Looks like the F&P Solo doesn't. Stupid.

She has the ResMed 11. I have added the auto start. Yeah the mask is good for comfort but its hard to disconnect.

You can buy a quick connector. Here is one example - https://www.amazon.com/Quick-Release-Sw ... ref=sr_1_5?

I didn't price shop. Put this term in a browser or Amazon to find a better price -

cpap mask quick release connector
