ASAA seeks apnea patients and their families to encourage support from Congress
Washington, DC, April 05, 2007-- The American Sleep Apnea Association is looking for sleep apnea patients and the families to write to their Members of Congress on matters of importance to them and those who are not yet diagnosed.
ASAA's first Call to Action is additional funding for the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to add questions on sleep and sleep disorders to the health surveys they do around the United States. Having this information would help get a better idea of the magnitude of the problem of sleep apnea the United States and hopefully, Congress deploying some resources to solve it.
The strongest particular interest in the Advocacy Action Program is in getting Illinois residents to write to their Congresspeople.
Other interested parties in the United States that would like to assist in the Advocacy Action Program in any way possible are encouraged to visit the Legislative Action Center to learn more and to get involved at http://capwiz.com/sleepapnea.
