Pillow Replacement Timing

Post by slowmo2000 » Mon Apr 08, 2024 7:27 am

Hi all,

I've been diagnosing/trying to fix leak. Initially, I was having issues with mouth leak. Thanks to this forum, I've got the mouth tape technique down. I use a p30i nasal pillow (size large) and now it seems to be the source of my leak. Curious to know how often these should be replaced before they're the source of leak? The 14 day recommendation seems ridiculous to me.

Additionally, I'm going to try to adjust my headgear as it's likely a bit loose. I may also try to go back down the medium sized pillow - I love the large as I feel like I get much more air per breath out of it. Lastly, I'm going to try the F&P full face mask to see if I can get leak down.

I had the P10 pillow mask and I seemed to have leaking going on even with taping. So I purchased the P30i and I like it better and feel like my mask leak is not as bad. I had to adjust my strap more tightly to get less air leak. I will have leaks but that is something I will keep working on. I don't believe you need to replace the pillow that often and will just do it when I have more leaks than normal. I just make sure to wash it often with mild soap. If I have issues still then I think I will try a medium nose pillow instead of large. If that does not work then I think Fisher & Paykel Brevida™ Nasal Pillow is my next mask I will give a try. Good luck on your journey to a better sleep.

Have you studied some YouTube videos on fitting and adjusting this mask model?

I have. I think I actually may be in between an L and M - will keep tinkering till I figure it out.

IMHO Larger pillows are not only easier to seal but provide more air flow.
