hair loss

I am wondering how people with long hair prevent hair loss. I am wearing an airsense p10 or f30 and am finding a lot of hair pulled out by the roots in the morning. (Not broken. Pulled out by the roots.) I see strap covers online that look to be providing cushion for the face. That doesn't seem to be what I need. Also, the strap covers I have found are rather short. Would they need to cover the entire strap? I also see lots of recommendations to wear a cap, but my chinstrap is already a cap style. I need something more minimal. If you recommend strap covers, where on the headgear do I put them? Top strap? Back strap? Face straps? Thanks.
