Husband says CPAP is scary and unattractive...
Re: Husband says CPAP is scary and unattractive...
I have been experiencing the opposite siituation.
I have been using PAP therapy for 13 years after being diagnosed with an untreated AHI of 83.
I noticed several years ago that my wife had several clear symptoms of sleep apnea. She would vehemently refuse to even discuss taking a test.
So recently she finally agreed to get tested, so she could prove to me that she did NOT have sleep apnea. Well, we brought home here APAP machine last Friday. Her AHI today was 0.2. She has been waking for bathroom breaks twice a night instead of 4 times a night.
She now wonders why so many people say using, and getting used to APAP therapy is so difficult.
So I think my well rested wife is much more attractive than my tired moody wife. Plus, I never developed the habit of watching her sleep, with the lights out, while I was also sleeping.

All your adventures sound gloriously therapeutic indeed. Not that this is your hubby's issue, but I have a family member who is literally overcome with an ill feeling when he is in the presence of someone with an obvious health issue. It's like being an empath with a glitch in the program. We don't know why your husband doesn't like the cpap but it sure would be nice if he opened up so you could at least understand. Good luck with sorting through everything.

Nothing attractive about a CPAP machine unless your the one using it. Nothing scary about a CPAP machine unless your uneducated.

I'm beginning to suspect that Chris C is a troll practicing his fiction storywriting. He has a lot of work to be done.

So what's next here? "Honey I need a heart transplant..." "No no, the scars will be unsightly and I just find it too objectionable. I'm sorry but you'll have to do without"

Denial is great in that one.
If he cannot handle life's little flaws,
you may need to face your need for an attorney.
Be strong, apparently he is not.

For whom?
Seems to me you'd need a few 'shrooms to imagine him as something other than an asshole.
Freeze this moment a little bit longer.
Make each sensation a little bit stronger.
Experience slips away.

My wedding vows included the line..
"for better and for worse"
Some one may need reminding.
BTW - I am lucky..my wife accepted my therapy and the benefits that came with it. eg sleeping next to a calm, quiet, non snoring partner...and I think she wants me to live at least a while longer.
Best wished to you both.
