Full Face Mask Interface?
Full Face Mask Interface?
What is a full face mask interface? My insurance supply list says I am to get 1 per month from the DME. I do not recall ever getting an interface in 15 years of cpap gear. I have net searched cpap supply companies, and cannot find Full Face Mask Interface.

Re: Full Face Mask Interface?
The "interface" is the removable, mostly silicone portion that contacts your skin--
usually called a cushion or nasal pillows.
Interface is the catch-all term used by insurance and the government, but no one else.

All the sources I use say the interface is the mask. That's how I have always used the word. But, it seems rare that an insurance policy covers a new mask each month. ???chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Thu Aug 24, 2023 9:06 amThe "interface" is the removable, mostly silicone portion that contacts your skin

Interface - as in between you and the mask frame, the rubber etc.

Due to the limited number of studies available comparing various interface types, the optimum form of CPAP delivery interface remains unclear. The results of our review suggest that nasal pillows or the Oracle oral mask may be useful alternatives when a patient is unable to tolerate conventional nasal masks.

Re: Full Face Mask Interface?
The equipment that is allowed once a month in terms of a full face mask is only the mask cushion. The silicone part.
A7031 is the HCPCS insurance billing code.
This is NOT a complete mask set up....it's the cushion ONLY and the cushion would fit onto the already possessed frame and headgear.
The full complete mask A7030 (this would be a frame and cushion only) is one per 3 months and the headgear is one per 6 months.
