how to stop "service required" on old M series bipap

Post by jethro55 » Sun Jun 18, 2023 11:15 am

Hi, I've been bipap-ing for years
My favorite machine was the light / simple M series, I have retired several at ~10-12k blower hours

I'm trying to resurrect one for a back up
Blinking greets me - with "service required" as the only error code

Does anyone know how to erase the error code memory, if that is what is going on ?
Naginalf posted pictures similar to my machine a decade ago - viewtopic/t79069/DIY-CPAP-machine.html?start=30#p720232

Any assistance would be gratefully appreciated - I have gotten very good at taking them apart and can swap components with ease
The only information that I am lacking is how the errors are logged, unless the machine actually does a check every time it's powered up
How can I figure out what component is causing the error ?
I have tried opening and blowing out the pressure sensors thinking dust / dirt was the problem - no change, still beeping

Thanks very much

I would think that even well 'fixed' (by you) machines do have final life spans... and yours is very old. Do you know what the run hrs are on it?

You might send it in to Acbio.com who fix paps, but...

Maybe it's just time. :(

You're probably right .. but ..
It's infuriating that it's like a closed box, thought someone could shed some light
What can be done ? If the answer is no, so be it

here's a picture of the pressure sensors that I thought could be the culprit - wouldn't let me :-(
Didn't work unfortunately

Thanks

Specifically about attachments--which are no longer possible due to lack of storage space.
We have to use an image hosting site instead of directly linking an image from our own device.
