Hi all
I tried to search the Board but can't seem to get results that talk about this particular issue. I have a ResMed and use the small-x-small nasal pillows set to 11 with no ramp using a chin strap because of mouth leaks. Everything works great for me - except when I turn onto my side it blows air into my belly. This causes some tummy discomfort and a weird sensation as I have to keep "burping" if I'm on my side. So for years now I've had to sleep on my back only. Even with a bolster under my knees it starts to ache. So typically, I take off the mask at 4 or 5am (after about 6 hours of sleep) and turn to my side. But then I snore and feel a bit yucky when I wake. I'd really like to be able to keep my mask on - as those last few hours aren't as restful.
Do y'all have any suggestions?
And if there is a better way for me to search other than "side sleeping" and "air in stomach" or side sleeping air in stomach please let me know. I get thousands of hits on either of these and that doesn't really help.
Have a lovely day
T

Re: Side sleeping blowing air into tummy
are you on a straight pressure of 11? that is, in cpap mode?
if so, why not apap instead?
there's a reason i ask, but don't want to go barging ahead of myself. i see in your previous post you said resmed airsense 10. when you get a moment, pls fill in your equipment in your user profile. that way it'll show up on the bottom of your psosts, as mine does below.
good luck!

Straight pressure gave me aerophagia.
An APAP range got rid of it.
When I showed my data to my sleep doc,
he wrote down the range I found was most effective.
