ResMed AirSense 11 AutoSet: Heated Hose is Not Working
ResMed AirSense 11 AutoSet: Heated Hose is Not Working
I have noticed for some time that my heated hosts is not working. What do I do?
Currently, I have my CPAP set to AutoSet for Her. When I wake up in the morning, the hose feels cool. I do have my resevoir filled with distilled water. This is causing me to wake up in the middle of the night and not get the restful sleep that I need.
And as a result, I am nothing short of a walking zombie the next day. Again I asked, "What do I do"?
Thanks in advance!

Starlett;
My hose quit heating also.. This seems to be a common problem ..
But I can't take My equipment in until April when I get home ..
I have read other thread were people have talked to their DME and had
their machine, hose, or both fixed or replaced ..
I believe the AS11 Autoset has a 2 year warranty ..
Call Your DME and see what they can do for You ..
Best of luck .. Steve

What is your Tube Temperature set to? Mine is set to 68 degrees. That's about 20 degrees lower than my skin temperature so the hose isn't going to feel warm to my touch. I would think if the temperature was set high enough for the hose to feel warm, the blowing air would be uncomfortably hot.

I guess it all depends on a person's perspective. I use a hose air temp of 86 degrees. Hose does feel a bit warm to the touch but not hot and the air I am breathing is far from "hot" or hot enough to be uncomfortable.

- Get a spare heated hose. You should have one anyway. Then swap it in to see if the new one works.
- Describe your heated hose settings. Have you explicitly set a temperature, is it set to Auto? If it's set to Auto, it may not be turning on because of the humidify settings.
- How have you diagnosed that it's not working? Have you put a thermometer on it? Are you just going by feel?
- Have you got a backup Air11 to try with it?
- Have you unplugged to for a bit to reset it?
- Have you tried reseating the hose?
- What, exactly is causing your to awaken?
Oh and update your profile signature to represent you current hardware.

The tube temperature setting will never "lower" the hose temperature. Its thermostat will cause it to turn on at or below 68. If the ambient air temperature is 75 degrees, your hose temperature will be at, or about 75 degrees.

What! You mean my CPAP doesn't have a built in refrigeration unit?Dog Slobber wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 9:10 amThe tube temperature setting will never "lower" the hose temperature. The winter settings on my set-back thermostat on the HVAC is set for 71 during the day and 64 at night. My heated water bed keeps me toasty at night, but if the room air does get chilly at night the 68 degree setting for hose temperature works for me, and keeps the hose dry.
