ResMed Elite S8's screen is frozen

Post by Bronkhorst » Mon Feb 28, 2022 11:19 am

ResMed Elite S8's screen is frozen. Stuck on RAMP:OFF. Below that, Menu and an arrow pointing up. None of the buttons change anything and I have unplugged it a number of times but it always returns to Welcome and then, the frozen screen as described. Any ideas? Thank you. inja@rogers.com

Sounds like something is toast internally.
Never heard of it "freezing" though.
You can contact acbio.com and ask them because they are now licensed to repair ResMed machines but I suspect it will cost more to repair it than it is worth.

Time to be looking for another machine if you don't already have a back up.

One more thing to try, if you're using the data card in the machine.

Remove the data card, unplug, wait 30 sec, replug.

Not that it necessarily apply in this case but ...
The machine may be trying access the card.
Some programmers don't account for possibility of corrupt media.
So the machine just loops trying to use it.
