AirSense 11: Need Filters!

Post by CPAP_MIMI » Mon Jan 31, 2022 12:36 pm

Hi everyone, I was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea last year, I started using my AirSense 11 last November and love it, almost all nights I get a score of 95 - 100. My only complaint/problem is filters. When I picked up my machine the medical supply said there is a shortage and I'm literally using the same filter going on 2 months now. I haven't really seen an negative physical effects, however I know its recommended to change frequently.

So my question is, would AirSense 10 filters be a good substitute? Any other recommendations on what I could buy off of Amazon? I hate to start randomly ordering off of Amazon not knowing. If ound these filters, "resplabs CPAP Filters - Generic ResMed AirSense 11 Machine Supplies - 60 Filter Pack" are on backorder until March 28th, I can get the Airsense 10 filters in just a few days, but wanted to ask for advise here before actually purchasing.

Can anyone help me out? I'd greatly appreciate.

Thanks,

Several people have said they are cutting down AS10 filters and using them in their AS11.

The AirSense 11 user guide says to replace the the filter every six months, sooner if you see holes or blockages.

For the most part, filters actually filter more material, after use than when new. Changing them is required when they are so clogged that fluid no longer passes through them at expected amounts or holes develop.

Take it out and inspect it. You can also flick off debris and then put it back in. Ensure that it's oriented the same way as when you put it back, so that debris that was collected on the outward facing side is not put back in on the inward facing side. Then run a mask fit.

It would be awfully nice if they marked one side--in or out, either way.
A marker might work, too.

You can get 60 filters for $15 from Amazon that are supposedly "Generic ResMed Airsense 11" filters. Search for "ResMed Airsense 11 filters" on Amazon.

I know some of us are allergic to paying for something out of pocket our insurance SHOULD cover, but I bet you pay more in co-pays, and with this package you can change your filter every week for a whole year with zero hassle. Priceless.
