I bought the below brush recently but forgot that the ResMed Climate Line Air has an elbow bend / connection at one end. It stops the brush from being pulled through.
I'm at a point of making a DIY brush with some strong string to pull through the hose to give it a good clean inside. My usual warm water and soap isn't removing what looks like a 'layer' of build-up inside the tube.

I, and a significant number of CPAPTalk member don't even wash our hoses, let alone scrape them.

Is that layer soap scum?restoresleep wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 6:09 amMy usual warm water and soap isn't removing what looks like a 'layer' of build-up inside the tube.
I've been using CPAP for more than ten years and have never had a need to wash a hose. There is nothing but filtered air and water vapor that gets inside the hose. Occasionally, body oils may need to be wiped off the hose ends which have been touched by hands.

If cleaning the hose makes you comfortable, go ahead!
You dealer will welcome your purchases, as excessive cleaning
WEARS OUT PARTS.
But, like I said, you do you--and sleep well, whatever it takes.
I give thanks that I am not similarly afflicted--I could not afford it.

How do you get build up inside a hose that only air and humidity go through ? Do you not use distilled water in your humidifier ?

In 17 years I've never cleaned a hose and am still using the ones I started with (3) as they are on different backup/spare machines. Every once in awhile (years) I fill them with water and check for leaks and then put them back on till the next time,
The more you scrub this stuff the faster it wears out and allows "contaminates" to get inside. Nothing in there to clean if you keep your filters clean/changed and use distilled water.
Keep the brushes and other things out of there and your equipment and parts will last longer.
