Another titration

Post by sleepyincolorado » Wed Dec 08, 2021 11:13 am

I have had a sleep study and a titration some months ago. The doc originally put me on a cpap an air curve 10. Therapy did not go well and I was switched to a bilevel machine an Airsense 10 vauto. Therapy is very hit or miss. I wanted to get switched to the only machine that will work for complex and central apnea. The doc wants another titration. I have two questions: 1. What good will titration do if I have one of my good nights? 2. Is there any way to get around another titration? BTW, I am on medicare and Humana.

Thanks

A bit of history above would help in potential responses.

I know you don't want to hear it but the optimal option is an in lab titration study with the ASV machine.

I have to agree with Pugsy; tests can be miserable.
The upside is that they give a clearer picture of what is going on,
and what you really need, and especially insurance authorization.
I am getting a load of tests lately; and as unpleasant as they are,
I am grateful for them and the better medical care that they enable.

I saw all I needed on the reports you shared in the link to past history that I posted above.

It just confirms my thoughts...you really should go ahead with the in lab titration with ASV.... if that is what they have planned.
I know it isn't what you wanted to hear but you asked for thoughts....and you got mine.

While trying to do this DIYing things with ASV isn't totally impossible.....it isn't easy and it isn't a speedy process.
You stand a greater chance of figuring out what you need by doing the in lab titration.....again assuming they are planning on starting out with ASV from the beginning of the night.

Thank you all for your feedback, sometimes finding out how to sleep is a bit overwhelming.
