Can't blame a person for having the feeling of being WATCHED.
Creepy, if you think a live person is paying that much attention,
especially when you think you're alone.
No less unsettling if you think a MACHINE is doing it..
"Skynet" is not here quite yet--but the great money machine is becoming a PEST.
One-way messages are the most infuriating, because you really want to tell them off.

I've had my machine in airplane mode since I got it. In those days I had good DME coverage that paid for the machine outright (with a modest co-pay) so it's been mine all along. No compliance info needed.

I will buy my own machines when I go on Medicare if I choose an advantage plan, because most are perpetual rental for life now. I don't want to pay more than the machine is worth, and I don't want anybody up in my business about compliance or not since it's my health and life at stake. I've had 100% compliance since I started except maybe two nights when I was too congested from a cold to use it.

They are still monitoring mine.
Maybe not monitoring you but instead have software that kicks out reminders at just about the same time as the machine's reminders.
I got phone calls like that from the DME I used for masks only since I have never used my insurance for a machine so no one has ever even known what machine I am currently using and no way for them to "monitor" my usage.
I would agree with you except I've changed the frequency of the reminders multiple times and still like clockwork every three months I get the message then the phone calls start. Maybe / probably they have some kind of software that does it for them?

How about turning off the reminders on your machine and see if they stop calling or not.
I am betting they don't.
I've have, they turn themselves back on. Thats why I'm sure the dme does it remotely.

Hmmm.....then I think I would be using airplane mode full time.
I would also likely be calling them up and explaining to them that my machine is off limits for any monitoring or changing of ANYTHING without my prior consent....in writing.

Up to you what you want to accept though. Me...I have been known to cut off my nose to spite my face when I don't like the way something is going down.

Unless you make use of MyAir....airplane mode would fix that little problem.

Your choice of course.

My reminders are all OFF.
I think I will write a thank you note to my DME
when I pick up supplies in a couple weeks.
Nothing specific--no sense giving them ideas.

I was ticked and furious at first, tried switching dme's but road block after road block from the insurance company now I just don't give a hoot. If they want to waste their time calling and sending me little notices on the machine its their dime. I kind of have fun switching it off only to have them waste their time turning it back on again. I haven't bought anything from them in over a year. When we went cobra I let them send everything they wanted for about 6 months until our insurance ended so I think I've pretty much got a lifetime supply of everything except filters, which I buy from amazon anyway. In 3 years now, I've only gone through one water chamber (the seal failed) one hose (my dog ate it) and once I found the right mask I've only gone through maybe 2 cushions a year. Now I almost get a chuckle about them wasting their time trying to bug me to buy something.

I do need to track down a place to buy the dc converter. We are getting ready to do some traveling while we still can. Maybe I'll put it on my Christmas list and let someone else track it down for me.

Don't call, WRITE. Send it certified and keep a copy plus proof of mailing.

If you know any lawyers, CC it to Jane Doe, Attorney at Law (doesn't matter what type of law they practice).

Or just keep it in airplane mode. . .
