OK just got home and looked at my power brick it takes 110/120V AC house power and converts it to 24V DC 3.75amp (not 12 like I said above) but the pic you posted above is this thing.........

What was throwing me off is its not the standard power bricK that comes with the Airsense 10! Its just some sort of DC power convertor that I'm not familiar with so I cant exactly tell you how it works. I take it its output is 24V DC 3.75amp like the regular power brick and its feed with 12V or 24V DC.

I don't know what I am talking about. The change is with the new water chamber (the plastic part) ithat has the metal part on the botton of the chamber is now round on the bottom, rather than square like my old one. I guess that is not any reason for a cord not to work.

Forgive me!! Like I said I was just guessing, I was at work and didnt have the power brick in front of me to look at, yes you are right it runs on 24V DC! LOL!!

I cannot understand this stuff.
It does not make sense to me.
It all worked fine for years until the new airsense 10 autoset machine showed up and then the camping cord duehickey no longer worked.
I think I will just give up and use my old airsense machine when camping even if it does not work as well.
Ugh.

What makes most sense to me is the OP is not correct about describing the the machines.
The old machine is likely an S9 (square humidifier tank) and the new machine an AirSense 10. This also explains why the DC-DC Adapter isn't interchangeable between the two.
Cuz they look almost the same, don't they?

Because one shouldn't (as the OP said) use an AC power supply with a battery, one should use a DC cord.
And as to your 'geeze' you didn't go back and correct your misstatement. expect to get corrected.

Hi
I obviously know nothing about electricity but both machines are airsense 10 autosets. I have no idea why this has happened. I also am known to mess up ac and dc and etc.....all i know is i figured it all out 1x 5 or so yrs ago and it all worked.

iirc - the S8 ran on -12V then they decided to add $60 to the DC cable after that so the one linked is $84.95
