Need help with titration interpretation

Post by 1speechpick » Tue Jun 15, 2021 9:46 am

Hello everyone! I just received results of titration study, and need help with interpretation. Here are the stats:

"*PAP was initialed at 5 cm H20 and titrated up to final setting of BIPAP 22/18 cm H20. Pt slept for 9/5 mins on the final pressure on 22/18 with back up rate on 12ccm H20 with lowest oxygen saturation on 89%.
*Oximetry: Nadir oxygen saturation was 76%. Oxygen saturations were below 88% for 110 minutes (45.4%b TST). Mean oxygen saturation was 89%.
*Arousals and parasomnias: arousal index on 32.3 arousals/hour
*OSA and SAT O2 not effectively treated with CPAP or BIPAP."

Remember the famous line in the movie Jaws..."you are going to need a bigger boat"???
You are going to need a bigger machine...or actually a different machine.
Regular Bipap/bilevel or cpap...can't do the job you need done for some unknown reason.
