Burned by tube - anyone else??
Hello! This is my first post. I searched for this topic and found only one other from 2017 so I thought I would ask about it. I woke up this morning with a sharp pain on my side. When I looked closely, it’s a burn mark from my tube. You can see the little lines from the tube. I must have been laying on it.
Has this happened to anyone else? I have a DreamStation. Thank you for any help!

Must be a heated tube....That's what happens when you lie on it. Same problem if you lie in a heating pad.Valliegator wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 10:52 amHello! This is my first post. Yes, it’s a heated tube. I’m trying to attach a pic but can’t seem to figure it out..

I read that it shouldn’t be hot enough to burn you and when I googled it I haven’t found it happening to anyone else.

You can see the lines on the right side. So weird! I’ve never had that happen before.

Hose management can prevent whatever that is.
It also looks like an abrasion or pressure lesion.
Ouchie! It looks painful.
I'd put some ointment on that.

You might want to get a hose hanger that keeps the hose lifted above your head. Amazon sells lots of them. I have this one and like it just fine:

Actually I use the one above with the following attached through the curly part:

Together they work very well for me.

Re: Burned by tube - anyone else??
I don't think it's a burn.
As chunky frog pointed out, it looks like an abrasion.
Heated hoses are designed to heat the air to about 80°F. Most here can't even feel they're on and many think they aren't working because the tube isn't noticeably hotter.
I think it's an abrasion.

I would agree with you if the lines weren’t there. I feel like an abrasion wouldn’t make those lines. The tube is always warm to the touch even when it’s not running. But who knows?! I’ll look into buying a hanger so it doesn’t happen again. Thank you!Dog Slobber wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 7:31 pmI don't think it's a burn.

If the abrasion was caused by the tube, why wouldn't the lines be there?Valliegator wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 12:02 amI would agree with you if the lines weren’t there. If it is a burn, then your solution is not to hang it, it's to replace it. A heated hose that is getting sufficiently hot to burn ones skin is obviously malfunctioning, and is now a fire hazard.
