FS: Resmed AirMini w/ F30 FFM

Post by Qwkevo » Wed Oct 21, 2020 10:52 pm

Hi, I’m Shawn. I’m a new member. Have been using a cpap machine (Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset) for over 4 years.

I recently purchased a Resmed AirMini for travel/camping. Made the mistake of not setting it up and trying it after the initial purchase. Once I did, I found the noise to be completely unacceptable. Unfortunately I didn’t do more research prior to buying. I tried the machine for less than 5 minutes. I even tried ordering an adapter to use my current mask setup and the noise was the same.

My question is, is there an aftermarket marketplace for what is essentially a new machine with an F30 full face mask and headgear. I know the Rx can be changed by going into clinician mode as I tried a lower pressure as well to see if the noise would be reduced.

I edited this thread to reflect I’m selling the machine.

With all of that said I’m looking to sell the setup for $350 shipped to the lower 48 states. I’ll upload photos with my member name and date a bit later along with the serial number of the machine.

Unfortunately those are known to be noisy... even for just travel. You may need to look at others to do the job.

Local craigslist, Facebook market place.
You can offer it here on the forum but most members shopping are unlikely to pay full retail.
Secondwindcpap.com sometimes buys machines (depends on how many they have and how well they sell) and they will of course only pay wholesale when they buy machines.

There isn't any specific website for private cpap sales that I know of.

Thank you for the reply Pugsy,

I understand I won’t get full retail or anywhere near. Hate to have it sit there doing me no good. Is there a specific section of the forum to sell it, or is within this thread ok?

Knowing I’ll take a loss I’m willing to take $350 for it. Not sure if that’s a fair price considering I paid $600. I can provide photos, serial number etc of the machine.

You can offer it here in this thread. You can change/edit your topic to reflect that you have the ResMed AirMini for sale.
We don't have sub forums here...everything goes in this one main forum.

Hey Pugsy,

One more question. Can you recommend a compact travel cpap that’s similar in size to the AirMini without the loud noise?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry. I have zero experience with any of the tiny travel machines. They all seem to have the noise complaint it seems.
I need a lot of humidity and none of the travel machines really offer much, if any, added moisture.
So I never bothered even trying one and never really needed one anyway.

All I can offer is you try one of the others and this time make sure you try it immediately to see if the noise level is unacceptable or not and return it immediately if it isn't. Make sure you buy from someone who allows returns as well.

Remember to make these machines tiny they had to give up sound insulation to help buffer the motor noise. Just not much room in those tiny cases to pack in sound reduction material.
