hey all
Haven't been on the forum in quite some time and wanted to say howdy . Hope all are surviving the added stress financially & Health wise during this surreal ordeal . i have been furloughed from my fulltime job as a security agent for Gaylord Opryland since mid april & trying to stay busy (and out of the fridge). Like everyone else this thing has taken a toll on all here. out of the blue may 30 i had my 3rd T I A and have been told my CT scan was showing signs of Basal ganglia dentate with atrophy . I'm sure if not for my continual nightly use of cpap and the awesome support i have received here over the years HERE , i would have checked out long ago. Anyway y'all try and stay positive and Rock On the best you can !
Tim

Good to hear from you.
We have to do all our own shopping, and spend as little time as possible in
places where too many people are not wearing masks.
I have been called to jury duty--this could be interesting.
They will probably reject me when I show up in my leather Mad Max face mask.

Sleep loss is a terrible thing. People get grumpy, short-tempered, etc. That happens here even among the generally friendly. Try not to take it personally.

Yeah...it can be quite addictive. My husband is over 70 but still working but we opted to have him take about 6 weeks off during later April and May just for peace of mind. He whines and bitches every time he has to leave because he liked being home despite the massive honey do list we got done while he was home. He's an over the road truck driver so not home every night.deerslayer wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 2:23 pmI know will try and do better, looks like if ?? We always joke about him having to go back to work to get some rest when he is home.

Re: hey all
Throughout the pandemic I have been working from home. The company I work for did 2 furloughs. The first one required me to take of a week for each of 2 months. The second was done differently: 1 day off each week for 5 weeks. (That sucked financially because I could not qualify for unemployment, like I could for the first. I am sure that's why they did it that way).
Last week was the first 5 day work week I've had in awhile. I am seriously contemplating using vacation to create my own 4 day weeks

Re: hey all
The two and a half months I worked, I had so many vacation and saved holiday hours to burn up, I only worked Tuesday through Thursday. I would work three days, then have four days off. When I did show up for work, I spent all of my time training my replacement. It was almost like being retired already.

Re: hey all
I had a lot of vacation time saved up, so was able to leave a month and a half early. (2013)
I did not even meet my replacement for at least a month after I left.
I had created a Power Point training document for the project that only I knew how to do.
They didn't even post my job until after I was gone.

Good to see you back around. Hope your medical issues stay manageable. About your job - what an interesting way to make a living! Bet you've got stories to tell but can't. The virus hasn't affected me a whole lot - didn't leave my recliner much anyway - and my fixed income is the same. Had a good scare a couple weeks ago. Two people in the household got the virus and had to go to a hotel to quarantine. Been a little nervous waiting to see if the rest of us are clear, but it seems we've squeaked past the timeline. Stop back through when you get a chance.
