Is my pressure too high or too low?

Post by m1k2s3 » Mon Jun 29, 2020 2:24 pm

I’ve been using CPAP for about 13 years. Over the years, my pressure has been adjusted up and it’s now at 11.8. Recently I’ve noticed I’ve been waking up in the morning still tired and I wake up a couple of times during the night.

My first thought was that maybe my pressure is too low but I’ve done some reading on this and realize that I do sometimes wake up with a dry mouth or fluid in my ears - both signs of high pressure. So now I’m not sure it might be too high. Is it possible that after all these years, my pressure might need to be adjusted lower rather than higher or is something else going on.

Unless you recently gained even a relatively little amount of weight (which can make a big diff. to things) you'll need to tell us the exact model ("Resmed Auto" is not enough - there are very many) of your machine, whether in fact there is a max pressure setting that you didn't tell us about and which mask you use. Then read the 1st and 2nd 'stickies at the top of the page, download Oscar (free), follow instructions for posting which parts and do it in this thread so we can see what might be up and advise you. Are you taking any new meds btw?

My crystal ball is currently our for repair and I'm not good at guessing. We know nothing about you or your therapy. What specific model machine do you have? What is your average AHI? What kind of apnea events are you having? How are your leaks? What mask are you using? To answer your question...YES, your pressure is likely too high or too low.
