New Machine - New Settings - Results.

Post by DreamDiver » Wed Apr 22, 2020 12:49 pm

So it's been a while on these settings.

At the bottom of my image in various tints of red and green are OSCAR's opinions of my settings.
My best settings were from the S9, if green means the most successful settings.
My worst settings were are for the current AS10 settings, if red means the least successful settings.
The only difference between the earliest and latest settings changes is that I'm using the for her algorithm on the AS10 for Her.
So, tonight I'm going to change it to the normal Autoset Algorithm and see how that flies.
Same pressures, same EPR.

I'm going to document those changes here.

OSCAR Stats: w00t! (Name and address are all fake, of course)

Thanks for sharing the insight around the colors; OSCAR's opinion on the settings; had not realized to interpret the lines that way... :-)
OSCAR and I agree that we're on the right way, dialing in to the right setting.
Curious to see your journey, thanks for sharing

I'm absolutely thrilled with OSCAR. It's better than any professional (DME) software for giving data to the user.
I like that if I can think of something I want to do, it's probably already been implemented.
For instance, if you want to learn about what happened on a specific day when viewing the Overview, just shift click that day and the daily pane for that day appears. I just figured there had to be a way and there was. Brilliant!
EDIT: This feature might have already been incorporated into SleepyHead. If it was, it's still brilliant!

OK, just check my 'old' Sleepyhead install and YES; JediMark had already thought of it!
More and more, superlatives come short for the appreciation of OSCAR and the team behind it

Just realized there is not a "feature" user manual for OSCAR; this great feature is not documented in the WIKI (at least I have not found it)
And Yeah, I deleted my EncorePro instance, after forgetting my password for the 3rd time I realized i don't use it.

I wondered whether it had already been implemented. Thanks RPDM.

About Encore Pro, I know, right? ResScan 6.0.2 looks good if you don't move anything, but when it comes to refreshing or changing screens, the refresh rate and methodology is just graphically challenged. I have to wonder if they're using a really old and janky 16-bit compiler software and inefficient sorts and calculations, because even on the old 32-bit machines it was awful. On a fast 64-bit machine compared with Oscar, it's intolerable. I deleted Encore Pro for my old M-Series Pro years ago and haven't looked back.

As I suspected, I went back to the original "APAP" algorithm, figuring that maybe the "for her" algorithm was not ideal for me.
These are the results after about a week and a half.
As I suspected, my original settings from the S9 work better for me. My AHI isn't as low as it was a month ago on the S9, and I can't really sugar coat it. I need to lose a little weight. The previous data are almost a year long, and I gained weight that never retreated after the winter holidays. So, time to meal plan accordingly.

The for Her mode isn't necessarily for everyone but it is at least something different in the arsenal to try when things aren't going as well as we hoped for them to go for some unknown reason.
It does have some limitations at the higher pressures as well so obviously not so great for those people either.

It's just another tool in the toolbox that might come in handy for some people.

Exactly! Thank you Pugsy!
I'm going to stick with my current settings for a bit, but I might go back at some point in the future to see what optimum settings might be with the "for Her" algorithm.
