Leaks and AHI Numbers

Post by jeffdanger » Mon Mar 09, 2020 4:45 am

Hi All,

Been working the last week to get my large leak rate down. Using the F30i mask rates go from high to low inexplicably. Been as low as 4.69 and as high as 46.25. Last night I switched back to the F30 and leak rate was 2.92--not bad. Tried nasal pillows also, have a Swift LT I used for years but need to tape mouth to use this -not preferred by me. My AHI has been mostly under 4 all week but I posted last nights Oscar to ask if anyone sees anything unusual. One thing I notice is most events occur during falling to sleep periods and seem to level out after true sleep hast set in.

Thanks for any comments offered.

I was also wondering if anyone thinks the Dreamwear FFM would be better? Not into FFM that cover the nose.

The flagged stuff right close to known awake times could simply be false positive flagging.

They may not even be real asleep flagged events. If you aren't asleep they don't count.

These machines don't have any way to know if we are sleep or not and all they measure is air flow and awake/arousal breathing is very irregular when compared to asleep breathing. Those irregularities can be flagged by mistake....false positive flagging or what we call SWJ or sleep/wake/junk.
