Cons for both: Since using the CPAP I've noticed a few random tooth aches, I dunno if this is due to having dry mouth some mornings, going to start using mouth wash in the mornings and before bed more.
this may just be a coincidence, who can know?

not sure if this is available in australia, but have you tried xylimelts? should be found at the chemist or perhaps grocery store in the oral health section.

it's a tiny lozenge that you fit between teeth and cheek. it helps you produce saliva throughout the night.

this doesn't address WHY you have dry mouth, but it certainly helps alleviate the symptoms.

good luck!

You're definitely right, it could just be a coincidence. Either way I've scheduled myself in for a checkup with my dentist just to see what they think. The tooth ache itself may be unrelated, but the actual soreness across the bottom row of teeth is definitely from the pressure of the mask which on both masks I've tried my best to lessen as much as possible without the mask starting to leak. As far as the Xylimelts go, I haven't been able to directly find them in Australia, however there might be a couple places that source them and import them, alternatively my chemist have a few things that seem similar so I will give them a go also. I think possibly getting tubing covering/a heated tube might help as whenever I have the humidity set to 3/4/5 I don't get dry mouth, however end up waking up with rainout.

Thanks for the tips, always appreciated.

humidity is one of those situations that hits each of us differently. it's hard to advise someone as to how to get a handle on it. what works for me won't necessarily work for thee. i recently moved from an arid part of the united states to a very humid part. now, i'm FROM this very humid part of the country. but i spent the bulk of my cpap journey in the arid place. had my humidity dialed in there. but it's taken me a few months to get re-adjusted to the humid conditions here.

yes, wouldn't surprise me if there was an alternative for the lozenges i mentioned. hopefully, you'll come up with something that works for you!

Have been going alright the past few days on CPAP, changed the humidity to adaptive and haven't had rainout, somewhat a dry mouth though.

I went to the dentist today and really struggled with mouth open + breathing through my nose, I feel it was kinda related to my issues with snoring etc, so I really wonder if seeing an ENT might be a good idea. I've even caught myself "snoring" a couple times when awake. Have cut soda out of my diet over the last couple weeks so hopefully dropping some KG's will help too!

So just a pretty good update I thought I'd share, more for my benefit really, but the last week or so I've been average around 5 for my AHI which is an amazing result for me. I was moved onto a Resmed F30 mask and a Fisher Paykel Vitera and both have been giving great results. I did make a change instead of a pressure of 18, I've changed it to an adaptive pressure of 16-20, and it's dropped from 10-15 to this.

The only issue I'm still having now is my eyes, mostly my right eye is continuously blurry the following day. It's now 6pm here in Perth and my eye is still rather blurry. I know at times there has been little leaks here and there, but I'm thinking its really mostly from the straps being tight (I've loosened them as much as possible without loosing seal) Struggling as to what I should do, as seeing an optometrist may help but the situation is only presenting because of the CPAP
