I'm sure I am going to have a ton more questions but these are the ones bothering me at the moment. I appreciate any feedback you can offer.

Another Newbie with questions
Hi there, I have been on xpap therapy since July of this year with pretty good results. I am now getting interested in digging into some more in depth information about my treatment which brings me to a couple of questions: First, If I use a wifi SD card in my Airsense 10 will that interfere or cause the machine to not transmit my data to my DME and doc? (Note: I received my machine from the DME without an SD card when I called and asked where it was they said it was shipped to them from the supplier with no SD card). Also, how hard is it to set one of these wifi cards up? Second, where can I find one of the pulse oximeters that is compatible with OSCAR? I did look in the program and searched the suggested products but could not find any.
I'm sure I am going to have a ton more questions but these are the ones bothering me at the moment. I appreciate any feedback you can offer.

If you search on this board, you'll probably find several posts that seem to conclude that the WiFi cards don't work well in ResMed devices... they may work for a while then stop. I wouldn't expect it to cause any difficulty with the built on cellular connection.

Re: Another Newbie with questions
The FlashAir WiFi card works great in my ResMed Airsense 10, and no it doesn't make sense that a low powered WiFi device would interfere with a cellular wireless device, give they use different frequencies and cellular device is constantly surrounded by much stronger radio frequency interference.
Ensure you get the Toshiba FlashAir, there are other WiFi SD cards, but the FlashAir is widely supported and to date I haven't seen any of the alternatives having success.
I've used one for a year and a half problem free.
I have had an interest in the FlashAir cards, have been using one, am keenly aware of posts about them, and don't agree with your observations or a proliferations of posts that suggest they don't work well with ResMeds or routinely fail after a short time of use.

Re: Another Newbie with questions
I have had a FlashAir card in my machine for almost 4 years, and the card in my wife's machine is over two years old. They are both working fine. I occasionally need to reseat the card when it won't transmit. I download the data from the machine to two files on my computer. I am a bit OCD so move the data from those files to external storage devices once a month.

Re: Another Newbie with questions
I have a Transcend 365 on order as a travel machine and back-up. My regular machine is being monitored by the DME and my doctor. So my question is, what do you all do when you use a travel machine and it looks like you are not in compliance with your therapy because you did not use your regular machine for a few days. I don't want to run the risk of losing my regular machine. Anyone have experience with this? My insurance company is United Health Care.

I also have UHC. I told the sleep doctor about my travel machine during my next annual appointment, figuring I could share access to that data with her, but she just seemed to take my word for it, and I haven't had an issue.CPAPLuv wrote:I have a Transcend 365 on order as a travel machine and back-up. I finally got my first night of OSCAR data but I'm not able to read it as the columns are scrunched together. Any suggestions?

Make the graphs bigger and don't try to cram all the graphs in the image.
See this thread for the graph format.

Thanks, I will take a look at it and try to figure it out. I expected it to open clean and not all jumbled.Pugsy wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 6:21 amMake the graphs bigger and don't try to cram all the graphs in the image.

Re: Another Newbie with questions
I don't know why it didn't open clean like we normally see. Probably something to do with fonts and size or something.
What operating system is on your computer? Seems like there have been some font issues with Mac versions and maybe the other not so commonly used compiled versions.
I use Windows though and didn't have this issue at all so when I haven't fixed the problem myself and don't remember someone else's fix...I am not very useful except to say you can resize everything and make it look the way you want.
It should remember the resizing so you should only have to do it once.

Re: Another Newbie with questions
I have been wearing a mouth guard for about 5 years for bruxism (although I needed one way before then). My understanding is that bruxism can be a side effect of sleep apnea. I have been on CPAP since July and don't feel like I am clenching my teeth anymore. I asked my dentist if she knew how I could tell if I still need to use the night guard and she wasn't sure. She did say that she has heard that a lot of people stop clenching after starting CPAP therapy. Anyone here have experience with this? Were you able to discontinue using the night guard after CPAP treatment?
On a side note, I have really been stunned by the total lack of support from my doctor, dentist and the DME through this whole process. It took several years of me whining to my doctor that I was very, very tired all the time before a sleep study was even suggested (I can't tell you how many times I heard "well, you are getting older".) My dentist knew that I clenched my teeth and even thought I had reflux but never suggested or discussed with me the possibility of sleep apnea. Once diagnosed no one took the time to explain to me what sleep apnea is and how I might expect to recover. All of that being said, I am really glad I found this forum as it has been way more helpful than my medical team.

Ok, so I got the rows straightened out so that I can read them but I cannot get the columns to stop overlapping. I have gone into all of the settings I can find with no luck. Any suggestions?

Re: Another Newbie with questions
I'd suggest posting that in the 'oscar issues' thread... yours is the second one I've seen today.... it's something to do with fonts being messed up, I'm guessing.
