Constant Leak Rate

Post by bayareacpap » Fri Oct 25, 2019 8:42 am

Does anyone know if the Resmed s10 leak rate display “freezes” from time to time? My numbers are generally very good. AHI under 0.5 with 95% leak rate at 8-15. However, about 10 days ago I started getting leak rates of 50-75. I adjusted my mask and now for the past 3 days, my leak rate has been 2 every day (it’s never been this low and number usually changes everyday). That number seems suspiciously low and constant. I unplugged my CPAP after day two to reset the display but was 2 again this morning. Is there anything else I should try regarding reset?

I used to have Sleepyhead but changed computers a while back. Can someone point me to where to download the new program as I heard it is no longer available?

SleepyHead is still available. It just won't be updated past where it is right now.

OSCAR is based off SleepyHead and there are people who are going to be actively working on it to fix bugs and keep it updated when new machines are released.

I haven't heard of the AirSense 10 models getting stuck like the S9 models used to on occasion. Since you have already done the unplugging trick that's about all we know to offer.

If you're reading the rate off the machine's screen, you might want to check whether the report interval is set to one day (rather than e.g. one month or week).

Good point and one that I always forget.
The default is for 30 day and once someone pulls the plug for electricity it will automatically reset to showing a 30 day average and it won't vary much unless there is a marked difference.

After unplugging the machine the values on the display set to 30 day averages, maybe you need to reset the period to 1 day

Thanks so much for all the feedback. I checked and my CPAP was set to 1 day. The AHI is changing but the leak rate stayed the same. I guess I will need to look at the graphs more closely. Thanks again!
