I hope all the real estate stuff falls into place just the way you want it to, and that the move goes smooth as silk. We’ll miss you during the interval, though!
ah, shucks, m'am. good of you and all that.

things look good on both ends. the washington people will be out on sept 4th barring any mishaps. and it looks as though this place will sell. it's really good property. folks can use what we are living in as a "mother in law" which has plenty of space. and the "kids" have been working hard over the last 5-6 years of getting the main house it much better shape than it was.

Great to hear the update. The Northwest would love to have you! Where do you plan to end up?

And great that we don't need to worry when see you being quiet.
heh. sedro-wooley.

now i can hear you snickering from here, so i feel i have to speak up as to why. my wife and i currently live in a house on our daughter's property. daughter's husband is chief of rescue services in the grand canyon. daughter works as support for the ranger service. (she WAS a ranger, but didn't like grand canyon. so she does her job from home here and goes into the office in flagstaff on occasion.) so we are locked in with them. we are one big team.

the son in law has gotten a promotion to chief ranger of northern cascades national park, the third biggest park in the united states. SO, he's moving to sedro-woolley, where the office is. we will move with them and have a place to live there, as well.

while sedro isn't exactly bright lights, big city, there is more there than there is here. and british columbia is a short drive (vancouver) or shorter ferry ride (victoria) away. and we have been visitors there so often in the past and we are keen to see it again.

okay, maybe you weren't snickering.

besides, seattle is an hour and half drive away....
Definitely not snickering. About 20 years ago, I went to a farm there to photograph some horses. I really wanted one of them, but it was not financially feasible. I still have a poster of that one on my wall. He followed me around like a puppy, and wanted to be where the action was. I do go that far north very often, but when I pass the exit, I think of that horse.

Congrats Zonker. Arizona's loss.

Your post is how I felt about coming back home here to Arizona. When we had the opportunity we took it.
yup, it will feel good to return "home". don't get me wrong, i don't HATE flagstaff.

i just will love sedro-woolley more!
I understand exactly. That is how we felt in Nevada. We didn't hate it but it wasn't home.

Happy for you :D

I thought you were on vacation cause I've noticed a few new people that were not welcomed to the Zoo....so I knew you were away. You were missed.

Hope everything goes smoothly!

Best wishes with your move! I used to live right near Sedro Woolley. I was stationed in Oak Harbor Washington for six years. Absolutely beautiful place!

Okay, I stuck around.

Happy that you are happy with the move. I have moved away from southern Missouri twice in my life and both times I was miserable where I was and came back after just a few years.

Right now the only place I might move to is a small island in the Caribbean or Tahiti or some place like that.
Of my 67 years on earth I have been in this area 57 of them. Old habits die hard.
Can you take me with you?

Look, not only am I trained in security measures, including hand to hand combat, but also a very large selection of firearms, and being from deep south Louisiana, I can COOK. I'm willing to do whatever chores are needed on the island, including, but not limited to: Fighting off sharks, building huts, drilling for oil, skinning game, fabricating wind powered turbines (For the CPAPs of course), cutting down trees, skinning coconuts, building rafts, foraging for messages in a bottle...

When I win the lottery and can make the move maybe I needed to screen for helpers.

I got tired of watching all the reruns on the ID channel on how to do the perfect murder.
Now I am in to watching the island life stuff. Sigh.
I like secluded and private. Off the grid kind of stuff. Big pocketbook needed for what I want.

awww! sweet story. this very daughter in this very move is a horse woman. first felt the call when she was 13 and hasn't looked back. in fact, there is a horse making the journey from here to sedro. in all, one horse, three goats and two cats.

she had a horse pass away two months ago. she will replace when we get to our new home. she hasn't ridden in a goodly while so the new horse may be one she starts riding again.

anyway, i'm just glad we aren't moving to eastern washington!
