For Sale: Vintage Bipap. Respironics "Sleepeasy". /TRADE?

Post by Patriot Partner » Fri Jul 12, 2019 2:43 pm

I suppose Respironics would be interested in buying this, so if you know anybody there, pass it on.
Im in columbus ohio, and can ship it FedEx or whatever.

Blows good, must be 1980's model. Makes a pretty funny collectible for a hosehead.
(actually, you could tube-up and use it for a backup, lol)

Set on 10, has a toggle switch (lol).

Has no humidification (not sure when they added it). The entire front white area is the FILTER.

Im putting this up so that i can buy/ trade for a working BACKUP bipap machine.

Ha, ha. Unlike every machine on the market today, I don't think you can use it in Europe without a converter.

BTW, I had an F&P HC-201 in 1999 (it's still in my closet and I think it still blows). At the time, it was the only machine on the market that had integrated humidification. Prior to that time, you need to use a separate humidifier. That is hose #1 from the CPAP to the humidifier and hose #2 from the humidifier to the mask. The humidifier had a separate plug.

The older machines are heavy, noisy, large, do not have leak compensation, do not have altitude compensation, and are not capable of any type of reporting (expect motor hours).

I really don't recommend using such an old machine if you can possibly help it!

The machine isn't being sold as a therapy unit, but as a historic / collectable.

1. Machine has HIGH hours, this thing saved somebodies life back in the day

2. NO, i have not used this for a night, however, yeah, if i needed a backup, i would plug it in. !

3. The stickers on my unit show a OXYGEN company in columbus ohio, and you can see that the fitting on the tube allows for 02.

4. YES a collectible. Ive been too lazy to put it on ebay, or call respironics. I assume these antiques are fairly valuable.

THIS machine is still listed on a CPAP supply companies website

The bullfrog has a vintage CBM PET2000.
Some people collect--others accumulate.

Depends on how important it is to keep that door open, having a heavy door stop can be handy! Jim

Rocks could be cheaper though. It does have a handle, can't find that on Rocks.

LOL, actually, I wasnt kidding, even remotely.

I buy/sell/trade a LOT of vintage Americana. This includes electronica, sport-goods, etc.

If you think this through, within a 40 year span, Medical Technology essentially went from "having no cure
for apnea/DYSPNEA to a very complex bi-level algorithm for keeping people alive who
would otherwise simply stroke out.

Further, the word BIPAP SERVO SV//// etc will become a household word soon enough as Boomers
age, and need breathing assistance related to COPD in increasing measure.

These early "BRICKS" will become collectible, and quickly, and most likely,
with Medical DME's.......much like computer stores now feature early APPLES and LISAS.

I saw a junky APPLE II in a glass cabinet last week, for 1000.00

Granted, Bipaps are not quite so sexy in terms of pop culture, but by that reasoning,
there is less of them, and could become even more valuable as collectors items "medical"
in the near future. Hold on to your brick.

Im going to put this on EBAY for 500.00 dollars.

Even though it's been sold as a collectible, it's still a functioning medical device that requires a prescription.

Will EBay allow it? I'm guessing no.

Yeah, lol, maybe not 500, but it will be collectible.

**The thing is, the technology we are using now will eventually be considered Stone Age.

Here's another oldie
