Lord man! I have patience - I started CPAP therapy on September 6. Been through 9 masks. I'll spare you the rest!!! Tonight I'll take a picture for you of my Zonker get up and post it. You shouldn't have to be the only funny looking person on here! Best of all I didn't have to use ANY tape - ahhhh sigh of relief!!!
then you are much better than me! i hated feeling like a failure when i first started. and lacked all kinds of patience.

carry on and i look forward to the picture.
It's been very frustrating, expensive and basically a nightmare. But you have to keep going and do it for your health. No other option!!!

Here's last night's miracle.
Congratulations! That's incredible improvement. I don't know if I'd change anything myself. But you got permission from mom, so - by all means!

The app used in the 3rd screenshot - take it with a grain of salt. For sure as far as the sleep cycles go. 91% deep sleep and 4% light sleep? Doesn't work that way - don't even think it's possible. The reverse of that is definitely possible. But that doesn't take away from your great night in any way.

She wants to see if the new setup will work well with the Bleep because she likes using the Bleep.
I see no sense in waiting....I would do the same thing I advised...scratch that curiosity itch immediately.
She can always go back to something else later.

Certainly! The leak line does need work too. It was a misplaced spot to try to work in a "funny". Failed in multiple ways.

@bjhunt01 - I'm a HUGE advocate of the bleep. Hopefully you've been reading enough around here to have noticed. Better than sliced bread. by all means- switch to the bleep.

Try your new scunci and collar with the Bleep...don't change anything else.

Yes...I know the FL graph is a bit ugly but lets put that on the back burner for now...
Once you can consistently sleep decently with minimal leaks and minimal wake ups...then maybe revisit more maximum pressure to help deal with the FLs.
OK! I'm on it! Thanks Pugsy!

Who knows? I was pretty wiped out! Deep sleep is different from REM. And thank you!

What sleep app are you using? I would take what it is showing you with a grain of salt. What it is reporting is pretty much physically impossible. It's not showing anywhere near the normal cycles that we get with sleep and no way anyone ever gets 91 % in deep sleep...unless maybe seriously sedated or something weird and even then I would doubt it.

Listen to your body....it will tell you more about your sleep quality than most of these apps found on phones than people realize.

How did the Bleep experiment go last night with your new gear set up?

It's called Sleep Better. It doesn't show REM. Deep sleep is you aren't moving around, wiggiling, etc. This is my understanding of deep sleep. https://www.healthline.com/health/deep-sleep. But I will say it has been acting weird the last few weeks. So maybe it's tanked.

So last night my numbers were good. I didn't get enough sleep. I usually need about 9.5 all my life. I think the cervical collar helped if you don't mind being strangled so you can't move your chin!!! I had a leak period between 4:30 to 6:30 which is often the time I am wide awake. I THINK it was because with the Bleep, I didn't have the straps from the nasal mask that I had the night before to hold the Scunci's in place. I remember waking up especially late morning readjusting the Scunci that's supposed to go around my mouth. So tonight, I am going to try wearing my knitted hat and putting the Scunci's over it and see if it will keep them from sliding.

I know everyone says the Bleep is silent, but it isn't silent for me when I inhale. You can also hear the inhale on Jason's video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZzaY2KAt0c&t=1173s. at 15:55 and it's noisy when he breathes. This is a problem for me. I've started using ear plugs. And in addition, I don't feel I'm getting a nice feeling of breathing easily like I do with the ResMed N20 which I'd use if it weren't for the straps that cause pain. I'm always very careful in making sure the Bleep is on tight and well sealed.

And yet there is a section on here where you and others talk about what you do to try to reduce the Bleep noise. I tried last week what I THOUGHT it said to do and that is remove the section with the holes in it and insert a filter between that and reconnect. My filter must be too thick if that's what you are supposed to do because I couldn't get the exhalation port put back on. I looked at someone's picture and it looks like that's what they did. Is that correct and maybe my filters are too thick?

So that's my latest report. More quiet would be nice. Tonight I'll try wearing a cap under the Scunci's and see how that goes.
Do you have any comments from looking at my screen? I expanded the leak area as well on the second screen. Thanks! I think I'm almost there and you won't have to hold my hand much longer! :D

How are you routing your long hose and the Bleep hose? Laying it on the bed or using some sort of hose management system?

Stick your fingers in your ears...see if the volume on the noise you hear on inhale changes any at all...louder, not as loud or no change.

The diffuser thing is for vented noise...that's not the same as inhale noise.
What kind of filter did you put next to the vent holes. If it was really dense and thick...that's too much density. I use the el cheapo mesh sort of ResMed filter...not dense or thick at all.

So I have the loooong ResMed hose and have the Bleep hose connected to it. I lay it on my chest all the way down to my abdomen to try to keep it straight and then put one layer of a light blanket on it to keep it in place. With the ear plugs which I'd think would be like fingers it's lighter and a different sound that isn't irritating. I'll try fingers tonight. Yes I think the el cheapo box of 356 filters for some small price are probably thick. I've never actually seen a Res Med filter. But is that where you have been putting it - take it apart and put inbetween and stick it back together. Geez can you still exhale??? But if that's for vented, that's not my problem. It's that inhale through the nostrils like Jason is doing on his video. Ear plugs help a lot. But you know what? It seems to me if your inhale is that noisy, you are having trouble getting air in. Or at least I am. Might go up to 10.4 in a few more nights. Knit cap tonight tho only to see. Thank you as always!

They are calling deep sleep stage 3 and 4 lumped together. No one gets 90% in stages 3 and 4 added together.
This is the old way of classifying the sleep stages.
Then they are calling REM stage 5. Stage 4 has been done away with and REM is now "stage 4" and there is no stage 5.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_cycle

https://www.tuck.com/stages/
20% of the night in deep sleep is considered normal.

https://site.eightsleep.com/blogs/news/ ... eally-need

I take anything a phone app might tell me about my sleep with a grain of salt.
I know it says sensors in the phone can tell if you are moving or not but the skeptic in me just can't see it.
It's hard enough to measure sleep status with any accuracy with something that you are wearing.

Give me a minute and I will get you a picture of my diffuser set up.
I have zero problems inhaling or exhaling and I do NOT hear any noise with either inhale or exhale...starting pressures 7 with EPR at 3...so 7 inhale and 4 exhale......and it is silent for both.

Try routing the hose overhead so it doesn't touch you anywhere and see if that makes a difference in the noise level.
